OFFERING
HOPE MINISTRIES, INC
Rev.
Bobby Jones, Founder/President
Dr. Dwayne Barber, Vice President
Brief History
Offering
Hope Ministries began in August of 2000 after Rev. Bobby Jones had a burden to
start an evangelistic ministry. It began with Camp meetings in various
locations in the summer months.
Later God began to lead in other areas. After prayer and waiting on the
Lord, the prison ministry began. Rev. Larry Nantz, the field director
had worked in the prison ministry previously and asked if Rev. Jones
would be interested in a prison outreach ministry. The first unit
started was the Gatling Juvenile Center in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Later we were able to get into the Alexander County Juvenile Center in
Taylorsville. Also in the meantime we began working in the Brookwood
Retirement Home in Huntersville. The work there continued until it
closed its doors in 2003. We were later given the opportunity to work in
the Lincoln County Adult Correctional Center in Lincolnton. Beginning in
May of 2004 we will be starting at the Jackson Training School in
Concord, North Carolina. In September of 2003 we were given corporation
status with the Secretary of State of North Carolina and also tax exempt
status with the NC Department of Revenue. As the ministry grows we
desire the prayers of Christian people and also need the financial
support of God’s people.
